5.28.2014 – Mr. Anton Kavčič, head of the Information and Communication Centre of RC IKT is the winner of The CIO (the CIO – chief information officer), the manager of the year in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT).
Mr. Anton Kavčič’s the award speach: “The award is a great recognition and acknowledgment of a good work for me personally and for my colleagues. We are living in a very challenging time. Managers of the companies demand and expect that in informatics we do more and more with less costs and resources, access to information services must be enabled from any location or device, and the expected 100% virtually availability of function. Improvements and optimization processes and tools, innovation, properly prioritize actions, investing in knowledge, expanding competences and introduction of changes in informatics are necessary constantly. I am proud that we completed a number of very complexes IT projects successfully in the past year, which are consistent with the business objectives and strategy of the Iskratel Group and RC IKT. I would like to point out that projects, which offer us improvements in the area of the information support for the production, enable better management of the product portfolio, improving support sales through the introduction of new functionalities of the SAP CRM system and the development and the implementation of our own applications to automate certain procedures in purchasing. At the same time we have started to market our information services on the global market, and we have grown beyond the regular activities of the internal staff. I could say that we have successfully performed our transformation from the internal informatics company into the provider of comprehensive it solutions on the market. Informatics in our company or group of companies is no longer only the cost, but a competitive advantage in the market.”
The award The CIO of the year gives a professional recognition of the ICT profession. In recent years have received it distinguished Slovenian IT managers. The award is aimed to promote and strengthen the importance of the ICT sector in companies, the progress of the knowledge, the development of the technologically developed society, as well as the promotion of the ICT industry, which is the most interesting one. The ICT industry has always been one of those where there are more jobs than the demand, the best paid jobs, and always at focus when the company raises questions about the progress.

28.5.2014 – Prejemnik nagrade CIO leta (CIO – chief information officer), za managerja leta na področju informacijsko komunikacijskih tehnologij (IKT), je mag. Anton Kavčič, vodja Informacijsko komunikacijskega centra podjetja RC IKT.
Anton Kavčič je ob prejemu nagrade povedal: “Nagrada zame osebno in za moje sodelavce pomeni veliko priznanje in potrditev dobrega dela. Živimo v zelo zahtevnem času, kjer vodstva podjetij zahtevajo in pričakujejo, da v informatiki naredimo vedno več z manj stroški in viri, dostop do informacijskih storitev mora biti omogočen iz poljubne lokacije ali naprave, pri čemer se pričakuje praktično 100% razpoložljivost delovanja. Izboljšave in optimizacije procesov in orodij, inovacije, ustrezno postavljanje prioritet, vlaganje v znanje, širitev kompetenc ter uvajanje sprememb tako postajajo stalnica v informatiki. Ponosen sem, da smo v skupini podjetij Iskratel, katere član je RC IKT, v preteklem letu uspešno zaključili številne zelo zahtevne informacijske projekte, ki so bili usklajeni s poslovnimi cilji in strategijo. Izpostavil bi projekte, ki nam prinašajo izboljšave na področju informacijske podpore proizvodnji, omogočajo boljše obvladovanje produktnega portfelja, izboljšanje podpore prodaji z uvedbo novih funkcionalnosti znotraj SAP CRM sistema ter razvoj in uvedba lastne aplikacije za avtomatizacijo nekaterih postopkov v nabavi. Hkrati smo pričeli vse naše informacijske storitve intenzivno tržiti tudi na globalnem trgu, s čimer smo prerasli običajna področja delovanja interne informatike. Lahko rečem, da smo uspešno izvedli transformacijo iz interne informatike podjetja v ponudnika celovitih informacijskih rešitev na trgu. Informatika tako v našem podjetju oz. skupini podjetij ne predstavlja več samo stroška, ampak mu omogoča konkurenčno prednost na trgu.”
Nagrada “CIO leta” je strokovno priznanje IKT stroke, ki so ga v preteklih letih prejeli ugledni slovenski managerji in je namenjena vzpodbujanju ter krepitvi pomena IKT v gospodarskih družbah, napredku znanja, razvoju tehnološko razvite družbe ter promociji panoge, ki sodi med najzanimivejše. IKT panoga je bila vedno med tistimi, kjer je bilo delovnih mest več kot povpraševanja, med najbolje plačanimi ter vedno v ospredju, ko si podjetja postavljajo vprašanja napredka.
